How holiday overtime pay works

Example

  1. 1You're contracted to work 16 hours a week.
  2. 2You take a week's holiday, Sun 25 Apr to Sat 1 May 2027.
  3. 3Including overtime, you averaged 20 hours a week over the previous 52 weeks.
  4. 4That's 4 hours more than your contracted hours, so you're paid an extra 4 hours for your holiday week. Your base 16 hours for your holiday are already included in your base pay.

As your holiday week does not match a week within this holiday overtime period, it would instead be paid on the next period's payday, Thu 1 Jul 2027.
